Everyone has unique personal strengths, but in fact it is quite common for people to not really know what their strengths are. It is therefore possible for some individuals to underplay their strengths, whilst others may have an over-inflated view of them. In the past...

At a recent Happy Cafe meeting we discussed the theme of resilience, one of the 10 Keys to Happier Living from Action for Happiness. Having a happy life doesn't mean one that is free from challenging situations; we all know that tough times are part of life, but being...

I will start with a confession that I watch a TED talk most days - and the value to me is so positive that if you have never heard of them, or if you have never tried them, I hope I can offer some information and encouragement here.

First, a bit of background. TED is a...

I'd like to introduce myself and the team behind Happy Cafe Ely at Julia's Tearooms and also tell you how it came into being. My name is Kathryn Pearcey and the idea to set up a Happy Cafe came shortly after I stopped work two years ago.

Welcome to the Happy Café Ely @ Julia's tearoom.

The Café is a community enterprise which aims to make a difference to the happiness of people in Ely and the surrounding area.

There are several Happy Cafés across the UK and worldwide, the first of which was set up in Brighton in October 2014, inspired by the Action for Happiness movement.

The idea is simple: to create a friendly and welcoming meeting place, where local people can learn about scientifically proven methods to improve happiness and personal well-being.

Action for Happiness has researched and produced 10 keys for happier living. Postcards, posters, leaflets and supporting literature will be available at Julia's tearoom for people to learn and take action themselves.

The Café will be launching week commencing 10th July 2017. Following the launch week events (which you can read more about soon) the group will meet twice monthly on a Wednesday morning. Come along and discover for yourself how you can live happier.
