In our last blog we introduced you to Happy Cafe Ely, now we would like to tell you more about the launch week and the exciting events we have planned!
Happy Cafe Ely will launch in July 2017. We have a week full of events planned which are open to everybody.
So, what’s happening and when?
10th July at 2.30 PM, Ely Cathedral conference centre.
Rachel Kelly, renowned author, mental health activist and public speaker, will be visiting us to give a talk based on her international best selling book, Walking on Sunshine: 52 small steps to happiness. Rachel is a long-time supporter of Action for Happiness and we’re delighted that she will be visiting us. We recommend following Rachel on Twitter @RachelKellyNet for inspirational posts and great advice about good mental health. Topping & Company Booksellers will also be on hand during the event if you want to purchase one of Rachel’s books and perhaps ask her to sign it!
The event is free to attend, although donations on the door will be most welcome. Happy Cafe Ely volunteers will be on hand if you want to find out more about the Cafe. You’ll also be able to pick up information about Happy Cafe Ely from our regular home, Julia’s Tearoom from today.
You can register for the event and find directions on our Facebook page, or feel free to just turn up!
12th July 10.30 to 12.00, Julia’s Tearoom
The first of the regular Happy Cafe Ely coffee mornings will be held today. Come along to join in and find out more about the Action for Happiness 10 keys for happier living. You’ll meet like-minded people and find out more about the twice monthly coffee mornings. There’s also a book-shelf featuring some excellent books on the topics of happiness and wellbeing, including all of Rachel Kelly’s books.
The event is free to attend, although Julia’s does serve great coffee and cake, so you might want to budget for that!
15th July 3.00 to 5.00, Julia’s Tearoom
We’ll round off the week with a summer picnic at Julia’s Tearoom. There will be live music, entertainment and drinks and snacks available to purchase. Come along and have a chat, or just relax and listen to the live music with a good cup of tea and a book from the Happy Cafe library.
The event is free to attend.
We hope to see you one or all of our events. If you want to get in touch in the meantime we’ll post regular updates here on our site. You can also find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
